Welcome to Bush Spring Shooting Club's web site. We are a licensed clay pigeon shooting club with a ground set in the heart of the English Countryside at Chickney Hall Farm, Essex, about 40 miles North East of Central London. We have a DTL layout and a skeet range with a pleasant view over a valley but most shooters come for our 50 bird sporting over 5 stands with a different layout at every shoot. There are two copses, and a number of our stands are located in the trees. We present a wide variety of targets, including the occasional rabbit, but take care to keep every bird within range. We shoot every Saturday from 10 am until 1 pm, so you need to start your last round of sporting just after 12 noon or your last round of DTL or skeet by 12:30. You are most welcome to arrive before 10 am either to help setting up or to start the day with a cup of tea and a bacon roll. If you are new to the sport please let us know and we’ll make sure that you get a safe introduction to clay shooting. Similarly if you are on your own and would like to join a squad for sporting, DTL or skeet then just ask when buying your card. In the summer we also open for DTL and skeet (no sporting targets) most Wednesdays from 12 noon to 2 pm. If you want to eat on a Wednesday then you need to bring your own. Access to the ground is from the Elsenham - Thaxted Road (B1051) just to the North East of Stansted Airport, and there is a sign where the farm road leaves the main road. Click here for a detailed map. You cannot see the shooting ground from the road, though you sometimes get an excellent view of it from the right hand side of an aircraft on final approach into the airport. Click here if you would like to see the BBC current weather report and 5 day forecast for our area, but be aware that we shoot under (almost) all conditions. Members are invited to hand in their cards from their first round of sporting at each shoot they attend, and these scores are included in the club averages. We welcome feedback and suggestions relating to this site or the club in general. Comments should be sent to webmaster@bushspring.com but for more details about our club please come to a shoot and see for yourself.
